{ Project Overview }

Creativeans partnered with Italian furniture maker Ghimenton to create Paradiso, an outdoor furniture collection that brings together tropical imagination from Singapore with the quality and craftsmanship of Italian artisans.

Designed in Singapore and made in Italy, Paradiso explores the meeting point between Southeast Asian tropical beauty and refined furniture craftsmanship. The collection translates ideas of outdoor living, nature, comfort, and escape into contemporary furniture pieces that feel both functional and expressive.

An exhibition was curated to introduce the collection for the first time, presenting not only the final furniture designs but also the product development process behind this cross-continental collaboration. Through the showcase, Paradiso was positioned as a design collection shaped by cultural inspiration, material exploration, and artisanal production.

{ Creative Challenge }

Creating an outdoor furniture line that merges two very different design worlds while maintaining quality and uniqueness.
  1. 01

    Need to reflect tropical beauty and the lush richness of Southeast Asia in furniture typically rooted in European/Italian craftsmanship

  2. 02

    Materials and production had to be durable for outdoor use, weather-resistant, and maintain high standards without sacrificing aesthetics

  3. 03

    Communication of the story (East meets West, tropical nature, craftsmanship) needed to be strong so the collection feels cohesive and not just decorative

  4. 04

    Collaboration across distance (production in Italy, design in Singapore) amplified the challenge of ensuring consistent quality and alignment

{ The Solution }

Developed the Paradiso collection to capture paradise through material, form, and experience.
  1. Designed a furniture range with strong tropical inspiration—rich colours, lush forms, natural motifs—combined with traditional Italian furniture making

  2. Used durable, outdoor-friendly materials: stainless steel bases, solid teak or weather-able woods, waterproof fabrics, to ensure both form and function under outdoor conditions

  3. Created pieces that are both beautiful and versatile, like configurable chairs and modular seating, allowing use in different settings (resorts, patios, yachts)

  4. Delivered the collection under the name Paradiso to evoke an idyllic, relaxed lifestyle, strengthening the emotional and aspirational appeal of the brand

{ Craftsmanship }

Paradiso was shaped through a collaboration with Ghimenton, an established Italian furniture maker known for high-end artisanal furniture, custom craftsmanship, and refined upholstery.

Founded by Fernando Ghimenton in 1977, Ghimenton emerged in response to the increasing industrialisation of furniture production. At a time when creative and customisable furniture was becoming less common, the workshop preserved a more personal and craft-led approach to furniture making.

From its beginnings as a small workshop, Ghimenton has grown into a respected furniture maker in the Cremona region, serving local and international clients across villas, hotels, private yachts, and theatres. This heritage of Italian craftsmanship gave Paradiso a strong foundation in quality, detail, and artisanal production.

{ Product Design }

Paradiso introduces a new outdoor furniture collection that fuses Eastern and Western influences, contemporary expression, and traditional Italian craftsmanship into highly distinctive furniture typologies.

Made entirely in Italy, the collection was handcrafted by established artisans in the Cremona region using time-tested techniques and innovative materials. This combination of craft knowledge and material experimentation gives Paradiso a level of quality, durability, and refinement that sets it apart from industrially produced furniture.

Through our partnership with Ghimenton, the collection was developed to be highly customisable and adaptable to project-specific needs. From concept and engineering to fabrication, the collaboration brought together design imagination and technical expertise to realise challenging furniture forms for outdoor, hospitality, and lifestyle environments.

{ Furniture Collection }

The Paradiso collection brings together four distinctive furniture pieces, each designed to explore new possibilities in outdoor living through flexible forms, tactile comfort, and expressive material craftsmanship.

Isola Chair is designed as an avant-garde modular seat that can be reconfigured into different seating compositions, offering flexibility without losing its sculptural presence. Atlantis Lounge Seat extends this sense of freedom through a generous profile, soft nautical foam, waterproof upholstery, and movable totemic elements that support different sitting positions, social settings, and ways of use.

Noli Armchair combines solid beech wood, curved frames, rich upholstery, and an ergonomic reclining backrest that follows the contour of the body for enhanced support. Inspired by sea rock formations, Wawa Stool pairs a solid teak wood base with viscoelastic foam, creating a stool that appears firm and iconic while offering a soft, body-hugging seating experience.
