Creativeans wrote this guide, and we are one of the firms in it. We describe every firm, including ourselves, using its own website, checked on [2026/10/7]. We do not rank firms from first to last. We name the best fit for each need, and we say when another firm would suit you better than us.

Many guides judge firms on design awards. Awards show craft, but they do not tell you whether a firm can fix a positioning problem. These six tests do. Use them on any shortlist, including ours.
| Test | Why it matters |
How to check |
|
1. Research depth |
A strategy built on opinion is hard to defend in a board meeting. | Ask what research happens before positioning: customer interviews, surveys, competitor audits. Ask how many people they will speak to. |
| 2. Accredited consultants | Enterprise Singapore asks for the vendor’s SS 680 certification for EDGE activities such as International Branding. Certification also means a consultant has been assessed independently. | Ask for the certificate type (RMC, PMC or SCMC), the number and the name of the person who holds it. Check the public register. |
| 3. Who leads the work | Senior people often win the pitch while junior staff do the work. | Ask who will run the workshops and sign off the strategy, by name. |
| 4. Strategy and execution under one roof | Meaning gets lost when a strategy firm hands over to a separate design studio. | Ask whether the same team takes the strategy into identity, packaging, website and digital work. |
| 5. Regional reach | A brand for Singapore and Indonesia needs people who understand both markets. | Ask where the team is based and to see work in your target markets. |
| 6. Published method and proof | A written method can be checked. Opinions cannot. |
Ask to see the method, case studies and named clients. |
Each profile uses the firm’s own description and facts from its own website.
1. Creativeans
Creativeans is a brand strategy and design consultancy based in Singapore, Milan and Jakarta, founded in 2012. It is led by its two co-founders: Managing Director Kimming Yap, a Registered Management Consultant (RMC), and Director Yulia Saksen, a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). Projects follow BrandBuilder®, a five-stage method set out in the book Are You Brand Dead? The method starts with a brand audit. Its work includes renaming NOKS Offshore as VOREL, building InstaProtection’s brand across five Southeast Asian markets, and the brand identity for Rasa Indonesia, a culinary platform of Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade.
Best for: growth companies and SMEs, including B2B and industrial firms, that need brand strategy carried through to execution and regional rollout, directed by accredited consultants.

No firm suits everyone, including us. Some honest guidance:
1) What research will you do before you recommend a positioning?
2) Who will lead our project, and what certification do they hold?
3) What will we receive at the end of each stage?
4) Will the same team design the identity, packaging, website and other touchpoints?
5) Can you show work in our sector or our target markets?
6) What is included in the fee, and what costs extra?
7) If we take the brand overseas, could our project qualify for EDGE International Branding?
8) How will we know the new brand is working one year later?
Prices vary widely because “branding” can mean a new logo or a full repositioning. Creativeans publishes the ranges below in its 2026 pricing guide. They are our own estimates of typical prices in the market, not a formal survey.
| Scope | Typical range | What it includes |
| Brand refresh | S$5,000 to S$15,000 | An updated logo, colours and typography on a few touchpoints. No research or new positioning. |
| Brand identity development | S$15,000 to S$40,000 | A full identity system and brand guidelines, applied to key touchpoints. |
| Full brand strategy and identity | S$40,000 to S$80,000 | A brand audit, positioning and messaging, then the identity system. |
| Brand transformation | S$80,000 to S$150,000+ | Extensive research, brand architecture, identity and rollout across channels, markets and teams. |
At Creativeans, brand strategy projects start from S$30,000, before any grant support.

Yes, if the brand is for an overseas market. Under Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE grant, the International Branding activity supports up to 70% of qualifying costs for SMEs and up to 50% for non-SMEs. The project must be for a specific overseas market. Work aimed at the domestic market is not supported under this activity.
The company must apply itself, before any work starts or any deposit is paid. The vendor must provide its SS 680 certification with the application. International Branding support counts towards a cap of S$100,000 per company per year.

A brand consultancy starts with the business problem: research, positioning and brand architecture, then identity. A branding agency often starts with the visual identity. Many firms do both. Ask what research and strategy work is included before any design starts.
